Our licensed electrical team assesses the site, completes the electrical installation, manages the work within our scope, and coordinates other installation requirements where needed. What's Included in Our Generator Installation
Site Assessment
We assess the property, electrical panel capacity, available fuel source, proposed unit location, and installation requirements before equipment is ordered or installation work begins.
Transfer Switch Installation
The transfer switch allows the generator system to separate from utility power and supply the selected loads when configured for backup operation. We install and connect the appropriate transfer-switch equipment for the approved system.
Generator Pad & Placement
We review the proposed generator location and pad requirements against the equipment, site, and applicable placement requirements. Your quote will state whether pad preparation or installation is included in our scope or coordinated separately.
Electrical Connection
We complete the electrical wiring between the generator, transfer switch, and electrical system according to the approved installation scope and applicable electrical requirements.
Gas Line Coordination
For natural-gas or propane systems, we coordinate fuel-line requirements with the appropriate provider or licensed trade where needed. Your quote will identify the responsibilities included in our scope and any work handled separately.
Testing & Walkthrough
Before project closeout, we test the installed system within our scope, verify expected operation, and walk you through the generator and transfer-switch basics.
Permit & Inspection
Where permits or inspections are required, we handle or coordinate the electrical permitting and inspection responsibilities included in our installation scope.

Installation Day
Our crew completes the agreed generator electrical installation, including transfer-switch work, electrical connections, placement-related work within scope, and required fuel-line coordination.
Final Test & Walkthrough
We test the installed system within our scope, confirm expected automatic operation where applicable, and walk you through how the generator and transfer switch work.
Permit Closeout & Registration
We complete or coordinate the permit closeout responsibilities included in our scope. If the generator is supplied through Coffing Electric, we'll also explain any applicable manufacturer registration steps for the selected unit.
